Naples Meridian is on hiatus in South East Asia! Part 3 – Borobudur

Borobudur11We just got done visiting the most inspiring site to date. Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple in the world with 504 buddha statues in place, and over 1400 reliefs depicting his story. Some buddhas have been removed or partially destroyed in temple raids or as a result of time and degradation since its completion in the 8th century!

Borobudur is located in the province of Java and was built as a place to meditate or to simply sit in silence. Standing here the views are breathtaking, the slight breeze even at the top is soft and the craftsmanship within the walls and buddhas is astonishing.
